Removal of a site tank and installation of a new pressurised water system.
The client has been manufacturing paper on the same site since 1845. They're proud of their award-winning dedication to fulfil clients' needs whilst still maintaining the highest sustainability standards.
The Problem & Goal
The customer had a large water tank at site that held incoming water and provided a static head of pressure to site. Due to expansion at site the tank needed to be removed and an alternative system put in place to pressurise the sites water system.The system needed to deliver consistent and accurate pressure so that all existing plant/processes would operate as required when fed from the header tank.
The Solution
We worked with the customers project engineer to decide on the best approach and plant design. We also worked with a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) manufacturer to verify the best approach and offered them a bespoke multi-drive control system to maintain pressure at site.We designed and manufactured the new electrical control panels including, electrical schematics, VFD selection/programming and also selected and installed the required instrumentation.We worked with the project team at site to commission the plant in a timely and prompt manner.
The Results & Benefits
The system was left working as required by the customer. The system ultimately offered the client more accurate pressure control than previously available due to the system operating on VFD controlled pumps.The system was proven and facilitated the removal of the water tank so the client could continue their business expansion at site.
